Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day - for many people the most romantic day of the year.
Unfortunately I spent all day at home. It's so nice to take a little break and spend some
time with your friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend. Who doesn't like to celebrate love? :)
I can't believe how quickly time goes by.. school starts this monday after winter holiday.

I'm not owner of this photo

Sorry, I haven't written lately :(

Last few weeks in my life have been really busy ones.
I did a lot of bad things, so much mistakes, wrong decisions..
some of these made me feel really sad..
I also didn't have time for the zumba lessons :(
At school I started to be a waitress. I bought new skirt and some
shirts, but for now I wear only white ones that Kate gave to me.

I feel really terrible. Will be better if I write soon and for now just go to bed.
Take my apologies everyone..

Happy New Year!

It's 2014! I've just come home..
I like to start the new year fresh, you know, with fresh ideas,
new resolutions.. It's time to start again.. Try to be nicer for
all the people who take care of me. I'm just tired of waiting for
smth I know is never going to happen. It's time to live my life
and be who I am, be myself.. just let it be.

2014 - be good for us.

There's a photo of sandwiches
made by me and Damon two days ago.
Don't they look amazing? :)

Take care of yourself during Winter

It's December..
I think nothing beats a hot bowl of oatmeal in the winter!
It's not only convenient and delicious, but also healthy,
full of nutrients and phytochemicals.

Recipe for my favourite one - with black sesame

Ingredients:
  • rolled oats (around 40g)
  • milk (enough to cover the oats)
  • black sesame powder (about 2-3 tablespoons
    + extra for topping)
  • maple syrup (optional; I prefer it without)
  • some berries for topping (I prefer it with goji berries)
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180C
  2. Combine ingredients in a bake safe bowl
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes
  4. Top with more black sesame
    and any berries to serve

Independence Day

Two days ago was a Polish Independence Day.
This is a national holiday in Poland and of course
a day off from work. I live in Poznan,
where we also celebrate St. Martin's Day the same day
(also known as the name day of the city's main street).
Traditionally the greatest attraction of 11th November
in the capital of Wielkopolska Region are
crescent-shaped buns (rogale marcińskie).
I've never made them before, but this year
I tried and they were really delicious!

Most of the day all I had to do, was hope
for clear sky, because at night was a fireworks display!
I think most of the people loves watching fireworks
illuminate dark skies and I'm not the exception.
The weather was terrible, there was really cold
and wet most of the time, so me and Damon
were sitting at the restaurant when the show
began. It was like stars dancing to the music
at the dark sky!
Incredible!

Halloween

Halloween was yesterday,
but here's a little collage of photos made by me.
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone had a great one.

Halloween isn't a Polish holiday
and has only recently been introduced
into our culture by Hollywood movies and chain stores.
That's why not everyone celebrates it. Many of bars or
restaurants have themed parties starting as much as
one week before Halloween, but next day is 1st November -
the All Saints' Day celebrated by almost everyone in Poland.
People visit cementaries, bring fresh flowers and light candles
to commemorate their beloved ones. This day shops are closed.
No crowds and parties should be expected.
Maybe that's why some people criticize celebration Halloween
and it's only sparsely celebrated in Poland.

Perfect Evening

In my opinion the best idea for the perfect evening
is a cup of tea and good book. I'm not good
at being patient, but I was waiting for one for weeks!
I've just bought "Over the Horizon".
This's the final book of the trilogy
written by Andriej Diakow.
I love the smell of new books!
And I'm sure, that the joy of smelling turning pages
can't be substitute by reading e-book.. Not for me.

Here's a collage of photos:

sweet brioches called in Poland "drożdżówki". Made these
for sunday's morning. The entire
family loved them.
